Dale is a native of Asheville, North Carolina. He is a graduate of Mars Hill College (now University) and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Before coming to the Caldwell Baptist Association in 1986, he served as an associate pastor, minister of religious education, pastor, and director of missions in another Baptist association. He is a former trustee for the Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina, a former member of the Board of Directors for the Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute (now College), a former chairman and current member of the Caldwell County Smart Start Board of Directors, a former member of the Board of Directors for Communities in Schools in Caldwell County, a past president and current member of the North Carolina Baptist Associational Missions Conference, a former president of Hands on Missions, a founding member and team leader for the Clergy Crisis Support Team of Caldwell County, a former president of the Gardner-Webb University Board of Ministers, a current trustee and chair of the Denominational Relations Committee for the North Carolina Baptist Foundation, and a member of the Executive Team for the Southern Baptist Conference of Associational Leaders. He and his wife, Barbara, have three adult children, a daughter-in-law, and a son-in-law. Dale and Barbara are members of Mount Zion Baptist Church and live in Hudson.

Darlene has served with the Caldwell Baptist Association for twenty-three years. She is a member of the North Carolina Baptist Secretaries Association. She is married to David and they have a terrier dog named Emmy. She is a member of Yadkin Baptist Church and is the church pianist. She also teaches an adult Sunday School class and is the Media Library Director for her church. She enjoys hiking the state parks and vacationing at the coast. She has developed an interest in healthy eating and exercising realizing that a lot of our health issues could be alleviated if we would embrace these disciplines in our lives. Darlene appreciates the opportunity to serve Caldwell Baptists and all of the wonderful friends she has made through the years.
