Disaster Relief

Volunteers Needed

Region 7 is now caretaker for the NC Baptist Men's smallest disaster relief kitchen. Several people with CDL A license are needed to drive the truck to pull the kitchen. If you think you might be interested in joining our volunteer team and filling this need, please call Terry Barnes at 828-320-2362 for more details.

Music Leaders Appreciation Dinner

February 25, 6:30 PM, Crest View Baptist Church

This dinner is for all music leaders (directors, musicians, musical groups, etc. in the member churches of the Caldwell Baptist Association. It will be hosted by Crest View Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 25 at 6:30pm. The cost is $7.00 per person and we suggest that the church cover the cost for your music leaders. The meal will consist of bowtie pasta with Italian sausage in tomato cream sauce, salad, bread, drink, and dessert. After dinner there will be a "Gaither Homecoming Style Singing." Please register by Thursday, February 20 by calling the Baptist Center at 758-4081 or email Darlene. Please provide the name of the church and the names of the people attending. Checks should be mailed to the Caldwell Baptist Association, PO Box 1555, Lenoir, NC 28645 by Thursday, February 20.

Evangelism Training Conference

February 29, 8:30 AM - 12:00 Noon, Mount Zion Baptist Church

This Evangelism Training Conference will be hosted by Mount Zion Baptist Church on Saturday, February 29 from 8:30 AM to 12:00 Noon. The theme is Who's Your One. It begins with worship led by the Friendship Baptist Church Praise Team and a devotion by Rev. Lonnie Bell, Pastor of Friendship Baptist Church. Participants will have the opportunity to attend two breakout sessions with a 30 minute break in between. The sessions include Personal and Church Evangelism led by Dr. Steve Parker, Interim Pastor, Providence Baptist Church, Vale and Who's Your One led by Rev. Nicky Waters, Pastor, Poovey's Chapel Baptist Church. There is no charge but please register by calling 758-4081 or email Darlene no later than Friday, February 21.

Ministers Conference

March 4, 10:00 AM, Caldwell Baptist Center

The next Ministers Conference will be Wednesday, March 4 at 10:00am at the Caldwell Baptist Center.  The program will be G3 led by Chuck Campbell, Unifour Strategic Focus Coordinator, Baptist State Convention of North Carolina. A Dutch-treat lunch will be enjoyed at a nearby restaurant following the conference. 

Racing for Missions

Friday, March 6 & Saturday, March 7, Harris Chapel Church Gym

Racing for Missions will be held at Harris Chapel Baptist Church Gymnasium on Friday evening, March 6 and Saturday morning, March 7. The competition for Acteens, Challengers, and Adults will be held on Friday with registration at 6pm. Competition for Lads, Crusaders, and GAs will be held on Saturday with registration at 8am. A mission exhibit is required to race. Trophies will be awarded. Car kits are available at the Caldwell Baptist Center for $4.25 each. These may be picked up Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 12:30pm and 1:30-4:30pm. All cars must meet association and state rules.

Senior Adult Lunch & Learn

March 10, 11:15 AM, Mayflower Seafood Restaurant

The March Lunch & Learn will be held on Tuesday, March 10 at 11:15am at Mayflower Seafood Restaurant in Lenoir. The meal will be Dutch-treat. The speaker will be Jim Hamby, Pastor of Lakeview Baptist Church. Please register by Friday, March 6 by calling 758-4081.

The April Lunch & Learn will be held on Tuesday, April 7 at 11:15am at Dry Ponds Baptist Church, 5235 Union Church Road, Granite Falls. The meal will be free compliments of Dry Ponds Church and their pastor, Rev. Rob Evans, will be the Bible Study leader. Please register by Friday, April 3 by calling 758-4081.

Baptist Men & Brotherhood Directors Breakfast

March 21, 8:00 AM, Life Center at FBC Hudson

This is a breakfast meeting just for those who serve as the Baptist Men's Leader or the Brotherhood Director in the churches. The purpose is to share ideas about what is being done in the churches and communities; plus what we might be able to do together as a family of churches. The meeting will be held in the Life Center Dining Room of Hudson First on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 8:00 AM. Please make a reservation by March 6 by calling the Baptist Center (758-4081) or by sending a message to Darlene. Each pastor is encouraged to join the Brotherhood Director or Baptist Men's Leader of the church he serves.

Bible Drills & Speakers' Tournament

March 22, 2:00 PM, Fellowship Baptist Church

The annual Associational Bible Drills and Speakers' Tournament will be held on Sunday, March 22 at Fellowship Baptist Church. Participants and judges should arrive no later than 1:30pm with the drills beginning at 2:00. Students must bring their own Bibles. Participant registrations are due at the Baptist Center by Monday, March 16. Please attend the drills and support these students.

Associational VBS Clinic

March 24, 6:30 PM, Hudson First Baptist Church

The 2020 Associational Vacation Bible School Clinic will be held Tuesday, March 24 at 6:30pm at Hudson First Baptist Church. This clinic will be the best way to build excitement for you and your team about VBS. We will go over tips and ideas on ways to make VBS the best outreach to children and families in your community. There will be door prizes and lots of great information to be shared. Highlighted will be LifeWay and Group VBS materials. Paula Nelson, Director of Children and Family Ministries at Hudson First Baptist Church, is the Associational VBS Leader. She looks forward to inspiring you on how God is going to use you to reach children this year at VBS.

Women Taking Time to Breathe

March 28, 5:00 PM, Mount Zion Baptist Church

This event for women, teens and tweens will be held at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Hudson on Saturday, March 28 from 5:00-7:00 PM. The meal will be grilled chicken, salad bar, pasta salad, roll, dessert, and beverage. The cost is $7.00 per person. Please register with your name, the name of your church, and your payment to the Caldwell Baptist Association, PO Box 1555, Lenoir, NC 28645 by Tuesday, March 24 at 4:00pm.

 

The guest speaker and musician/soloist will be Cindy Johnson from Clemmons, NC. She has been traveling the country as a worship leader and speaker for over 20 years and is founder of "Stage 2 Ministries." When not touring, she serves as the Contemporary Worship Leader and Director of Women's Ministries at Old Town Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC.

Food Roundup

Baptist Children's Homes

It is time to collect non-perishable food and supplies for the Baptist Children's Homes Food Roundup. The goal this year is $400,000 in food, supplies and gift cards. The Caldwell Baptist Center will receive these items on Sunday, April 26 from 2:30-4:00 PM (one day only) at the Garage behind the Baptist Center, 208 NuWay Circle, Lenoir. Click on the link for a list of needed supplies. 

Harvest Seeds Ministry

The Caldwell Baptist Center continues to collect used literature for Harvest Seeds Ministry.  Please bring your new or gently used literature to the Baptist Center during the hours of 8:30am-12:30pm and 1:30-4:30pm. Literature must be delivered in boxes with lids for easy packing. If the box has flaps please make sure the flaps are not folded into the box. The boxes must be brought ready for shipment with no exposed literature.
