Hospice Adult Volunteer Training Dates Set

Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care has scheduled its next adult volunteer training sessions:  Saturday, February 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Thursday, February 26, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, February 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hospice presenters will explain the hospice philosophy and standards of care, the history of Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, family dynamics when someone is dying, communication and safety procedures, best responses to dying patients’ wishes and the wishes of their families, and other practical topics.

Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care always needs adult volunteers, and we help new volunteers find their best way to serve, based on personality type, background, and “comfort level”:  one-on-one patient care, clerical work, special events, etc.

Hospice will provide lunch at both Saturday sessions, and all sessions will be held in the Wilson Meeting Room at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood St., NW, in Lenoir. Volunteering with Hospice can be a truly rewarding way to serve your community.   For more information or to register for the February 2009 adult volunteer training sessions, contact Volunteer Coordinator Adrien Harrill at 828.754.0101.
