Ministers’ Conference

On the first Wednesday of each month, ministers are invited to the Baptist Center in Lenoir for the Ministers’ Conference at 10:00 a.m.  No conference is scheduled for July because of the Independence Day holiday.  The August conference will be held on Wednesday, August 4.  Barbara Fisher, who serves as an Instructional Facilitator with the Caldwell County Schools will lead a program on What Churches Can Do to Encourage College Students from their Church. The September 1 conference will be an Inspirational Message by Dr. Steve Parker.  Dr. Parker is pastor of the Zion Baptist Church in Morganton.

Special Congratulations to

 

Luke Roberts, son of Dr. & Mrs. David Roberts,

of Clark's Chapel Baptist Church who won First Place

in the state Youth Speakers' Tournament Finals in Greensboro this month.

 

He received a trophy and a $2,500.00 scholarship and will participate in the

National Speakers' Tournament in Mesquite, Texas on June 24-25.

 

 

 

Bible Drills and Speakers’ Tournament

Promotion and Training Meeting

The Fellowship Baptist Church at 2682 Fairwood Drive in Hudson will host this event beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 23.  This promotion and training event is for anyone interested in working with children and youth in preparation for the 2011 Bible Drills and Speakers’ Tournament.  Nancy Haigh, Bible Drills and Speakers’ Tournament Leader for the Caldwell Baptist Association, will provide the training.

Men and Boys Camporee and Field Events

Dry Ponds Baptist Church will be the site for this annual event on Friday and Saturday, September 17 & 18.  Campers should begin setting up their equipment at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.  Field events will begin on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. ending before lunch.

GA Day Camp

This annual event will take place on Saturday, August 21 at Dudley Shoals Baptist Church.  The church is located at 1882 Dudley Shoals Road in Granite Falls. The camp will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will conclude at 1:00 p.m.  Girls in grades 1 – 6 are invited to attend with their leaders.

 

 

WMU Leadership Training

This Annual WMU Leadership Training will be held at the College Avenue Baptist Church in Lenoir.  It will begin at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14.  Everyone will meet together in the church sanctuary before going into the individual conferences.  The training is for all leaders of all age groups in missions’ organizations.

Children’s Fall Fun Day

This event will be held on Saturday, October 2 at the Dry Ponds Baptist Church in Granite Falls from 10:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  The event is for all children ages 3-6.

Church Clerk’s Training Event

This training event will be held on Monday, August 16 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Baptist Center. The 2010 Congregation Profiles will be distributed as well as helpful information on how to complete your profile.  Watch your mail for details about this upcoming event. 

 

 

 

Praise Sing 2010

The Adult Praise Sing 2010 will be held at the Union Grove Baptist Church on Monday, August 30 beginning at 7:00 p.m.  The church is located at 1808 Union Grove Road in Lenoir.

 Church choirs from across the association are encouraged to participate and the public is invited to attend at no charge.  Praise Sing is a musical treat as church choirs of all sizes and styles take a turn singing beautiful music.

 

 

 

See You At the Pole Rally 2010

The Rally will be held on September 21 at Day 3 Church in Granite Falls from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m.   Youth Ministers watch your email for further details.

Youth Ministers’ Conference

The next Youth Ministers’ Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, August 17.  It will be held at the Baptist Center beginning at 10:30 a.m.  No conferences are scheduled for July or September.

in observance of Labor Day.

 

 

Congratulations

Darlene Townsend

Darlene will be celebrating her twelfth work anniversary with the Caldwell Baptist Association on Tuesday, July 13, 2010.  She began work as full-time Financial Secretary in 1998.  In addition, she serves as part-time Congregational Development Ministries Leader.

Ministers & Wives Annual Appreciation Dinner

This annual event will be held on Friday October 1 at the Yadkin Baptist Church in Patterson beginning at 6:30 p.m.  Watch your mail for further details.

 

Parade for the Hungry

 The Annual “Parade for the Hungry” will be held on Sunday, October 10 at 3:00 p.m. with registration from 2:30-2:50 p.m.  The event will begin at Hudson Middle School and conclude at the First Baptist Church of Hudson.  This is a countywide effort and every person interested in helping hungry people is welcome to participate.  All the food and money collected will stay in Caldwell County to help needy people here.

Make checks payable to the Caldwell Baptist Association. The food should be store bought items packed in small boxes of like items.  Vehicles loaded with food should plan to unload at Fellowship Baptist Church.
